Gilbert diagnosed my drain problem over the phone and gave me a flat fee bid that he stuck to, even though the job took quite awhile. The minute you speak to him or meet him in person, you’ll be convinced of his honesty and strict adherence to common business ethics—he returns your call promptly, answers questions to the best of his ability, comes out to the house the same day (in my case), and charges a FAIR price for the work done. There is no up-sell here. After several open-ended and very high quotes from the usual franchises, I was pleased to find Senor Rooter, where you can get the job done quickly without getting “gouged”. Gilbert has all the latest equipment for clearing your drain, including a drain camera and electric rooter. His plumbing expertise comes from a construction background where only permitted work is done. His knowledge of how your house drains are constructed is so useful, and I wasn’t worried that any damage would occur. He finished the job with all my drains running as good as new. I’m going to call Gilbert for all my future plumbing repairs—he’s one in a million!!

In the end of the afternoon of the 30th of December, water started backing up the toilets and bathtubs at our house. I found Gilbert, the “Senor Rooter” on Craigslist, and he was able to pass by in the evening the check what the problem was. Using his camera, we could see that our sewer line was broken under the house, this was not going to be just a simple rooter job. We ended up replacing the whole pipe, which was a serious effort because our house is on a concrete slab. That meant digging through the concrete, removing a cubic yard of dirt to get to the pipe, pulling a new pipe through the old one (a pretty neat technology, I’d post pictures if I knew how to do this here), filling the hole and even cleaning up the mess in the living room. Gilbert and his team did that in a single day. I also greatly appreciated that he stuck to the price we discussed upfront, a very reasonable one in my opinion. So overall, I feel lucky that I found Gilbert at that time of the year and I highly recommend him!

Gilbert and his team are truly the best in the business. My husband and I renovated a home in the Bay Area this summer/fall, and decided we were going to be the general contractors of our project to attempt to save time and money. We were recommended to Senor Rooter and Gilbert by another one of our trusted subcontractors and I am so thankful we chose to work with him. Gilbert helped us make all of our seemingly complicated designs for our kitchen and three full bathrooms come to life and was there every step of the way to ensure we knew what materials we needed to make it happen. Our master bathroom was the project I was most impressed with as the installation of a free standing tub, custom wall mount faucet, and dual shower heads, seemed intimidating from a construction perspective. Gilbert guided us on the appropriate elements we needed to do to maintain/comply with California code from the existing home.
